Texas House Bill 724 (Third) Meeting & First Republic of Texas

On Friday April 25, 2014 the committee for Texas House Bill 724 will meet at the Texas State Capital in Austin. Anyone interested on attending should be there before 10:00 AM because it promptly starts on time. We need to have our voices heard and this is the time and place for this to happen. Show your support by attending the public hearings on unclaimed minerals funds held by the Texas Comptroller. Below are the directions to the meeting room;

Exit I-35 at Texas Capital
Watch for sign stating Visitor Capital Parking
Park in the Visitor Parking Garage
Walk two blocks to the Visitor entrance at the Main Texas State Capital building
You can only enter and exit through the Visitor Entrance
Once through security screening you may ask for directions to building if needed
E-1 / Room 026 for Representative Guillen (HB-724 hearings on unclaimed minerals)
You will go upstairs from Security Screening
Then take an elevator down to basement and walk through tunnel to Building E-1
Go up one level and look for Room 026


To exit you must reverse all steps above

On Sunday April 6, 2014 from 2-4 PM at the Spanish Governors Palace in San Antonio we will celebrate the First Texas Republic founded by Bernardo Gutierrez de Lara. After a year of bloody warfare and after driving out all Spaniards from Texas, Gutierrez de Lara would proclaim our independence from Spain. This First Republic has been formally recognized in the State of Texas by the 83rd Texas Legislature in a resolution brought before them by State Representative Eddie Rodriguez in HR-709.

Scheduled to speak are State Representative Mike Villarreal from San Antonio, Texas History Professor from Incarnate Word College Dr. Gilberto Hinojosa and County Commissioner Tommy Adkisson.
