Land Grant Descendants Meeting McAllen Texas

Update on the Land Grants Meeting in McAllen on Saturday August 31 12:00 noon. We are past the halfway mark on our seating capacity of 240 people, and running out of seats. Make sure your name is on the list, please do not bring children.

State Senators Ryan Gillian and Juan Hinojosa, authors of House Bill 724, or their representatives have been invited as guest speakers, but no confirmation yet. Governor Rick Perry has called for a third session that is keeping the Senators very busy that may have affected their attendance at the meeting. We are still working on the Speaker list, and will have more information in the middle of the month.

This meeting will be filmed by the Border Studies Archives University of Texas Pan American library for later viewing. So far descendantes of these land grants will be attending the meeting, Salvador del Tule, La Barreta, Padre Island, Llano Grande, La Feria, La Vaca, Balconcitos, Para Fox, San Juan de Carricitos, El Panal, El Paistel, La Parra , Chiltipin , San Francisco, and Porciónes 47,78, 111,97,14,15,41,47,65,103.
