Incredible is the word that best describes our October 25th meeting
in McAllen, Texas. We had to hold two different meetings to accommodate
the 250 family members that showed up.
We were inspired by testimonials from family members in how God is playing
a role in this case. We were also inspired by Hector Cardenas, who made
it very clear that this case is far from over. Attorneys Hector Cardenas
and Eileen Fowler explained the steps necessary to win the appeal and
get this case its day in court. We as a family support their hard work
to get our land back.
Future meetings will be scheduled several months in advance so everyone
will have enough time to purchase tickets. The next meeting is tentatively
scheduled for June, 2004 in South Texas. Details of this meeting and
future meetings will be posted on the BFH web site.
We would like to thank Gilbert Munoz for the use of Café Amigo.
His brothers and crew did an excellent job tending to the needs of the
family. We would also like to thank Manuel Tamez who supplied the music,
Dora Gonzalez, Diana Balli, Alicia Stewart, Melda Cano Vasquez, Alicia
Guerra, Ricardo Balli, Mary Mendiola and all the other volunteers that
made this event possible.
