RE: September 01, 2001 Gathering & Meeting

We wish to thank the Champion/Stewart family, Alicia Stewart, Dora Gonzalez, Nick Ballí, Hector Cárdenas, as well as all the other family members who donated their time and food to make the get together and meeting a success. Approximately 250 people attended and everyone had a great time!

Members of all four lines of the family attended and it was great to see our family come together. As it turned out, we were able to spend time meeting our distant relatives and everyone appreciated the update on the lawsuit by Hector Cárdenas. Please pray that the motion to change venue filed by Mr. Cárdenas is granted so that we can get a fair trial in another county.

Our hearts go out to the Champion/Stewart Family for providing their residence for this gathering and we especially wish to thank our cousins George Ballí of Corpus Christi, and Joe Cano of Pearland, Texas for their generous donations. United we can accomplish anything. God bless the entire family as well as all the families who attended.

REMEMBER THAT THE JUDGE HAS SET A DEADLINE FOR PEOPLE NOT YET IN THE CASE TO JOIN. THE FINAL DEADLINE TO JOIN THE CASE AND FILE PAPERS WITH THE COURT IS OCTOBER 14, 2001. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE!

Any family members who have not already hired an attorney to represent them should do so immediately. It is our duty as family to pass the word on to other family members so that nobody is left out in the cold.
