Primo, Hector Cardenas, asked me to spread the word that on April 30, 2003, a Notice of Appeal was filed in our crusade for justice against the Kenedy Memorial Foundation. This means that the case will now be fought in the court of appeals and we are not dead yet! Now it is time for the family to step forward to raise the funds needed to continue our crusade to return La Barreta to the family. If you have not contributed your share of the expense fund, please do so now. We will also raise the money needed to continue the fight by rummage sales in several different cities. The first will take place in McAllen on May 17th and May 18th. The details will be sent to you in a separate update. If anyone is willing to organize a rummage sale and/or if anyone has ideas how we can raise money for our cause, please contact family member JoAnne Guzman Elliott at 254-793-3700.
